You can do it, but I wouldn't recommend it - there are working directories in the installation that you don't want to be on disks slowed down by NFS.  And you definitely do not want the index or caches under <confluence home> on an NFS disk.

As the docs say

1. You can install on an operating system that runs the required version of Java.  CentOS 7 is one
2. PostGreSQL is the preferred database (with MySQL and Oracle behind it, and MS-SQL if you absolutely must) for a completely clean installation.  If you have DBAs who prefer one of the other three though, you should go with them - stick with what you know best
3. Yes, you can run the database on the same server

Hi @Mai Waly,

NFS installation is not supported, as NFS lookups may significantly impact performance of the application (long start times, slow loading of pages, etc.) and is not recommended. If you do use an NFS install directory, you may experience issues with the installation.
