Can you create a task without opening a page for editing in confluence?

Using confluence cloud and trying to add a task to a task list macro list on a page but trying to avoid having to click edit.

Some people have mentioned using the workbox to add personal tasks but there does not seem to be this option on the version I am using.

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.

I'm not aware of a way to add a task without editing, you can only mark a task as complete (or unmark it).

Is this because you don't want to send a notification?
