I have been using Confluence Server that I maintain myself. I had an old version (5.something) which was obviously out of date. I've been trying to upgrade to the latest server version before support ends, but I'm having trouble getting 8.5 to work properly.
My questions:
1. Can I provide you with the backed-up mysql database, and you use that to initialize my cloud instance?
2. If so, what would you charge?
3. If I get my server instance working, is it correct that it will become read-only as of Feb 15 2024?
Thanks,
Brian
Hi @broe9 ,
Regarding your Confluence Server upgrade: If something is not working correctly after the upgrade, you can check for known Confluence issues and try troubleshooting the upgrade using the guidelines provided in the Atlassian documentation. Troubleshooting the Confluence Upgrade
Can I provide you with the backed-up mysql database, and you use that to initialize my cloud instance?

Atlassian doesn't support this approach. Atlassian recommended that to use Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant for cloud migration. The Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant is an app that helps you easily move content, users, and groups from Confluence Server or Data Center to Confluence Cloud. Built and maintained by Atlassian, the app is free to install and use.
If I get my server instance working, is it correct that it will become read-only as of Feb 15 2024?
No, you can continue to use whatever version of server you are on come that date. Just there will be no more updates or support, for it or for any third-party plugins.
Also, if you feel my input help you please accept the answer.
