Hi
I just upgraded our old version of Confluence from 3.5 to the latest version. I got an evaluation licence of the Team Calendars plugin but I can't seem to be able to find it. I went to Confluence Admin>Configuration>Plugins and I did the search in there but nothing turns up. I downloaded the jar file of team-calendars and placed it in the plugins folder and after restarting the server again nothing appeared. How can I get Team Calendars up and running? Where do I find it?

Hi Rob,
Could you please try to access the "My Calendar" menu from your dashboard. I suspect that the cause of your issue might be due to invalid license. Invalid license will result to "My Calendar" locked itself to be read-only.
Invalid license occurred if your Team Calendar license is different with your instance license.
Hope it helps.

Septa: Thank you for the fast response. I found the problem and just in case someone is as dense as I was, I will note that I completely missed the fact that you have to visit that My Calendars link as the first step after installing the Team Calendar plug-in in order to create the calendar. I thought I was creating it at the same time I was embedding it on a page. Doh! So now that I understand the correct flow of activity, it makes sense and I have it working. I will throw out this suggestion for a documentation change that might help the next person:
On http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/TEAMCAL/Licensing+and+Installing+Team+Calendars, I would escalate the following text to a top-level, numbered item. Because I did not do the JIRA integration, I did not read that step 3 very carefully, and the following text shows up at the bottom of step 3. I would create a top-level step 4 ("Add JIRA Calendar Type" of something) with the following info...
Here is the key line that I missed:
Once this is complete, you should be able to add a JIRA Calendar type in Team Calendars and see the projects you are expecting to see in the drop-down menu. If that works, you can go ahead and start Using Team Calendars.
Thanks again.
Rob

I will take this question a step further: I got the eval license, installed it, see it in my list of embeddable macros...but when I select it to make use of the Team Calendar, I get a dialog box asking me for
Calendar *
where it says "Start typing for calendar suggestions"...but I get nothing there. No autocomplete regardless of what letter I start with, and if I type something in, the INSERT button is never enabled...
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi there,
In order to install a plugin in Confluence 3.5 you will need to use UPM which is accessible from
Confluence Admin>Configuration>Plugins
From there please go to the "Install Plugin" tab. Search the plugin there, if you are not able to find it, you could try to install using the upload plugin method.
Detailed information can be found here : Installing a plugin
Hope it helps.
