Children Display macro uses over-sized text formatting

JaredH July 8, 2020

When attempting to use the Children Display macro, the view of the macro on the page enlarges the child page text beyond reasonable expectations. I want to use the  "rich content" excerpt display as the "simple" except is the opposite (too small, light gray and hard to read).

The documentation claims it should use the same formatting as the child page, but it appears to be using the format of the heading style (which is quite large).

Is there a way to have the rich except use the normal paragraph format of the child page?

Hi @JaredA

This behavior doesn't seem normal, so what you're looking to doo should be possible. Some thoughts that come to mind:

  1. Is there any custom CSS implemented on your Confluence that could be interfering?
  2. Have you added the macro on a line that's formatted in the editor as a heading?

That was it...hidden formatting around the macro. I added text before and after the marco, and the before displayed as a header. I selected the before/after text including the macro, set to paragraph, then deleted the text. All good.
