Hi,
We are looking at Confluence and HipChat, however the main use would be for clients to access to see information (mostly read only) and leave us tasks or comments on some work.
Would this mean that each client and client user would have to have an license as, as a small company, this would get out of hand cost wise.
I have read the Licensing documents but it is not clear.
Thanks in advance
Phil
Hi Phil,
It's written in the Cloud part too.
I don't use Confluence, so I can't help you more..
I'll search for further informations
You can ask at: https://support.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/14/create/138
You'll probably have a better help!
Damien.
Thanks Damien, I read that but was not sure if the 'cloud' version was different or if there was a 'client' style account that you see in a number of other products like this.

Hi Phil,
"A Confluence user is any user that can log into Confluence. Anonymous users may also be granted access and do not count against license totals." You can see it at: https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/pricing?tab=host-on-your-server
So, your users need to have a license. But, I think if you client are anonymous, it will not cost a License.
I'm not sure about that, but, I hope it can help you.
Damien.
