I am looking to build a help center on one of our applications, but would like to use our confluence docs as the source.  We'd also like the ability to search these docs. Is there an API for client side use that would allow us to do this?

I'm trying to avoid an "iframe-y" solution for this problem and was hoping there was something more elegant offered?

Hi Daniel! I'm Laura, product manager for the Confluence app Scroll Viewport. If you would like to use Confluence as the source for your help center content, then our app Scroll Viewport might be worth looking into.

Scroll Viewport generates a static website out of your Confluence content. You simply select one or more Confluence spaces for publishing and Viewport transforms these pages into a site that is styled like a help center. Here some live examples: https://help.k15t.com/scroll/example-help-centers

You can further customize and brand the site, connect a custom domain, add authentication, use our in-app help feature to embed content from the site into your application, and more. You can test the app for 30 days for free from the Atlassian marketplace and learn how to get started on https://help.k15t.com/scroll-viewport/get-started.

If you have any more questions or want a demo, please just let us know via help@k15t.com!
