The Code Macro theme setting is completely ignored
I have this selection below for the Global Code Macro Defaults
Yet I get this in my published renderings:
I have used Confluence Data Center edition at work for years and the Code Macro was an excellent addition to increase documentation readability - especially the abilty to set a dark background with white text for code snippets / bash code examples etc.
Yet for reasons I dont understand the Cloud version is not only completely reduced in functionality - you cant even change the default theme yet this configuration is offered.
Oh and who decided that line numbering was a mandated option - its really bad for readability of NON code quoted text ( eg bash lines like shown above ).
Why isnt this a global setting - at least give us the option to TURN IT OFF.
You can try Content Formatting Macros for Confluence. You can nest the code macro in its background macro, then ensure that the background macro is a dark colour. The code macro currently does not show numbering when nested in this plugin's macros, so this could actually produce the results that you need.
This app is developed by my team, so let me know if you need help.
Hello thanks for the feedback
Your suggestion is for me to PAY for an additional app:
I did not realise this is NOT a Confluence Cloud bundled macro - so this needs to be paid for
I just lodged this as a formal service request now. ( see JST-814801 )
Confluence Support - when will you be fixing the code macro and addressing the following
1 - Fixing Code Themes so they actually work
2 - Adding 'Line Number Toggle option to Global Settings or macro instance editor settings
( sorry I just realised you are not Confluence staff - I thought you were working on the team that codes the Confluence Macro itself - not another product )

Yes, I'm from Adaptavist team, no worries, I understand.
Yes, the service request is a good place for feature requests. Hope it will get enough votes.
