Comments not showing in database

We have encountered an issue in one of our databases. To test the feature, we added some comments into a handful of the fields but now they don't show anymore when we click show.

This only happens in this database. In another one I created to test this the comments show without issue.

Has anyone encountered the same issue before and knows what's going on?

Are you certain someone didn't remove the comments?

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

Would they still show up like this then?

When I hover over the icon, it shows "Show comments", but when I click on it, nothing shows.
