Hi All!

Any help is very much appreciated, thanks for taking the time!

I have created an gmail adresses and configured it as the Confluence Mailserver as described in:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-do-i-configure-confluence-to-use-gmail-as-the-mail-server-42795030.html

Triplechecked username, password, port settings but I still get the following reply when sending the test-mail:

An error has occurred with sending the test email:
com.atlassian.mail.MailException: javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at
535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials jw9sm12231727ejb.33 - gsmtp

Turned out the setting "allow less secure apps to acces/use gmail" has to be turned on in the GMAIL settings when sending from an HTTP (not HTTPS) Confluence server setup. Might be a good thing to mention that in the mentioned https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-do-i-configure-confluence-to-use-gmail-as-the-mail-server-42795030.html
