Confluence 5.6: is it possible to assign a shortcut key to display a specific macro?

Hello,

When I use the curly bracket ({) to open the list of macros, I have to type practically the entire macro name to have it come up. Is there a way to assign a shortcut key to it? Since more than one person has requested that feature, I'm hoping it can be done.

That can be achieved through a bit of development - luckly there is a guide through that can be found after this jump.

No, the only way to add that functionality would be through a new add-on. You're looking to extend and develop the "Auto-complete" functionality

There's nothing wrong with the macro. I just want to know if I can assign a shortcut key to it to insert it onto a page faster than going through the macro list.
