We recently upgraded to Confluence 7.19.7 and then lost the ability to directly edit files using the Confluence Companion Application.
When we select the "edit" button to edit files they not longer open up for directing editing. Now we have to download, edit, and upload modified files back onto Confluence, not the most efficient process!
This issue is occurring for all file types, i.e., the MS Office Suite.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, any thoughts on how to resolve it?
Hello,
We have several customers reported that the Atlassian Companion App no longer works after upgrading their Confluence version. Based on our initial investigation, the latest working version of Confluence is 7.19.5, and the earliest affected version is 7.19.7
Thus there is a possibility that the changes made between these two versions is causing the issue.
The common error message we see in the Companion log is:
error: adc:ServerFacade 2023-04-11T09:59:51.841Z Could not get temp link information:
error: adc:ServerFacade 2023-04-11T09:59:51.841Z UnexpectedStatusError: Unexpected response status code 401 from confluence.site
This error suggests that Companion app is not properly authenticated when it tries to request the metadata of the attachment being edited from the Confluence Previews plugin API.
To keep you informed we have log the issue as a bug in our public issue tracking system.
