Found this KB - Production Backup Strategy | Confluence Data Center and Server 7.16 | Atlassian Documentation

Default backup is enabled but is accumulating a lot of storage.

Wondering if there's a way, can we automatically backup the Attachments only as we already have an automated Database Backup.

Hi @Erlin Joseph Tomines

From Attachment Storage Configuration | Confluence Data Center and Server 7.20 | Atlassian Documentation, I guess attachments are stored either in DB or on file system.

In case your installation stores it in the DB, you are safe already.

In case your installation stores it on the file system, a standard server backup will probably include those files.

However, please be aware that in case of data loss, a consistent restore requires backup of DB and server to be from the same time.

I suggest to schedule a server backup and a DB backup sometime where close to none user activity is expected.

Regards,

Harald
