I am trying to create a "Database" in Confluence Cloud using the feature to create database.
In the "Import" section, I attach a csv file with 40K rows of data.
However, after selecting the file and clicking on "Upload", the confluence page just stops responding and crashes.
Is there a limit on the number of records Confluence can handle or any other way to create this Database without causing system failure?
Also, the import option only shows "CSV" instead or "HTML or CSV". Is the HTML import discontinued?
I have the same problem. I wanted to save a snapshot (not dynamic, but to save it for history) of a Jira search result somewhere, and tried exporting it to CSV and then importing to a new database page in Confluence, but it just keeps loading and asks if I want to keep waiting. I guess I will have to resort to PDFs.

Interesting, the docs says HTML / CSV but I can only see the CSV option.
I think size may be a problem here (both in terms of the sheer number of rows and, probably the physical size of the file). It's like importing giant MS Word docs... the page just freezes.
We have about 1200 rows in our DB (space pages) and it browsing the DB can be slow at times.
Is your CSV an export from another Confluence DB? This seems to be the primary use case for imports, based on this article.
I think Databases primary purpose is to be a DB for Confluence/Jira content + text, not to compete with purpose-built DB tools. So I can imagine that importing a huge DB from Excel or other tools (which may or may not be your case) is somewhat outside of Confluence DB scope.
