Confluence Editor

I'm trying to use Confluence to build a Roadmap for a project.

The link above gives directions but they start in the middle not at the beginning of how to actually do this.

What the heck is Confluence Editor? And how do I get there?

Sorry for the confusion. To access the editor click on the pencil icon in the upper right hand corner of the page you want to add the macro to, or press "e" on your keyboard to edit the page. Once you do so, you'll be in edit mode for that page and see editing bar at the top of the page.

Click the "+" on the right end of the bar, and click "Other macros". You can then search for the roadmap macro there.
