Confluence PDF Export is terrible

Ok, seriously, why is Confluence PDF export such a mess. Croped images, Super Scaled images, weird page page size.. it's a mess. Is there a way to have a simple PDF export that works.

Certainly the PDF exporter can be improved, there are some open bugs which you can check and see if you are affected by them. If you are open to using third-party apps then there are some options which you may want to consider:

Because of this issues, is why we moved to this plugin some 10 years ago:

scroll-pdf-exporter-for-confluence 

It is paid, but has a lot of features that will allow you to generate professional looking PDFs. It is what we use to generate customer documentation.
