So I've been running Confluence for a while now, currently on windows with version 4.1.3 combined with mysql server 5.0, and I've been getting the following output in the Tomcat console.
(Picture should be of Tomcat, the corporate network blocks the image url, but lets me upload it, go figure!)
I guess my question is, is this normal or is there an issue, as far as I can tell from using Confluenc is running fine as I'd guess it would be screaming a lot louder if there was an issue..
Hi Bristow,
To have a hint about the problem, try to find the line, where says Caused by: in that line will show what's happening.
Here is an example:
Caused by: org.springframework.transaction.CannotCreateTransactionException: Could not open Hibernate Session for transaction; nested exception is net.sf.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Cannot open connection
Caused by: net.sf.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Cannot open connection
Also be aware with line lines that says ERROR like this:
2012-05-29 16:21:39,361 ERROR [main] [atlassian.config.bootstrap.DefaultAtlassianBootstrapManager] checkMySQLStorageEngineType Your database is using the MyISAM Storage Engine, which may result in data integrity issues. Please see http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/voTcDQ for more information.
I hope this helps your troubleshoot.
Cheers,
WZ
Hi William, There is a Knowlege base available for the above error in Confluence, here. Hope it helps!

Hi Bristow,
I don't see any errors in the image you've posted up there, but if you're concerned then you can use the inbuilt Log Scanner which is supplied with the Support Tools Plugin that is bundled in the application, (Confluence Admin > Atlassian Support Tools > Log Scanner), and you can scan your logs for known errors against our Knowledge Base. If you then find any problems or concerns you can open a ticket with Atlassian Support, (in the Confluence project), and either myself or one of my colleagues will take a look at the problem and advise you on how to solve any issues you have.
All the best,
John
