Confluence is sending watchers two identical emails on page updates

Our Confluence instance is sending watchers duplicate emails when a page they are watching is updated.

Any chance that you have the Descendant Notification plugin turned on? If that's the case, you might be hitting into this bug - https://www.adaptavist.com/display/community/Double+notification

I had the exact same issue on Confluence version 4.2.1.
I tried running it in Debug node and scanning the log files for any errors or problems while this is happening and couldn't find any errors,

Finally ,

I noticed we had a plugin named "Descendent Notification Plugin"

Once I disabled it the problem disapeared

Users watching confluence page get two email notifications per update done on the page. 

I will appreciate some help with this. 

Also, is this a bug?

Please, inform which is your Confluence version, because this is a known issue in some versions.
