I bought jira and bitbucket (both are running now) and installed it on Ubuntu 20.04.1 with dedicated MySQL Server - ubuntu 18.04.5.
While installing confluence on this VM I faced this issue:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.atlassian.confluence.setup.actions.SetupPathsAction.execute(SetupPathsAction.java:54)
Could you please help me?
Are you using the right version of Java for the version of Confluence?
What have you configured differently to what the installation docs tell you?
What is the rest of the error?
Hello there :)
sorry for the delayed answer.
i know, my JDBC for mysql is correct, i used it to build a Confluence standalone VM and this still works like a charm.
i did nothing different than in my first try.
could it be, Atlassian has got something to do with this? I wanted to move the existing license to my atlassian server with jira & bitbucket and from this moment my app just broke

Hi @Daniel Simon ,
Looks like the installation is corrupted.
I would recommend deleting the current folder which is usually placed here "/var/atlassian/application-data" and run the installation again.
Cheers,
Jason

Moin :)
this was my first thought, too. But I removed both locations ( in var and opt ) and reran the installation. I tested 7.4.4 LTS and 7.7.3 latest. Both threw this error right after installation - no config was done yet :(
but thanks for your answer :3
