Confluence update issue

Dear all, 

If our confluence is version 4.2.3, how can we preserver original data to update our confluence for version the latest ? Our Server is ubuntu server. Thank you.

Hello there,

You should perform the upgrade replacing the installation directory. This keep your current data from home-directory and database.

Dear Luiz Maia, We download the atlassian-confluence-5.8.10-x64.bin file and run it . But it always show the message as listed as below:The directory you have selected is not a valid Confluence installation directory.
