Confluence upgrade from 5.4 to 6.15 - hangs in alterTable Executing grouped alter table command on

Hi all,

Trying to upgrade Confluence from 5.4.42 to 6.15.2, and as per release notes we can directly upgrade to latest version.

Problem:

After the upgrade steps, when I start confluence application for the first time, it goes through series of "alterTable Executing grouped alter table command on" messages until it gets to "CONFVERSION" table and just hangs there.

Below is the line of message where it stops:

2019-04-26 16:04:54,066 INFO [localhost-startStop-1] [confluence.upgrade.ddl.HibernateAlterTableExecutor] alterTable Executing grouped alter table command on CONFVERSION
 

Any idea why it is not progressing any further?

Hello @Bhuwan Thapa , in my opinion you should first upgrade to the first major version 6 and then to the latest 6.15.

Don't make so big upgrades! Step by step is always a better path to take.
