We have a user who can access a certain page just fine, but when they click on a link contained on that page that points to one of the page's attachments, she gets a screen with the message "Not permitted".
As I understand it, there are no separate permissions for attachments in Confluence so I'm a bit puzzled by this behavior. This is confluence 5.2.5.
Dave,
Did you ever find out the cause of this? Having exactly the same issue with another user and can't figure out why!
Thanks,
Jonathan
Thanks for the suggestion, but I checked that already. I even opened the attachments screen for the page and copied the link into an email and asked them to click it, just to be sure. They definitely have access to the page but Confluence refuses to serve them this attachment. Other users don't have a problem, so there's something unique about this user.

You've probably checked ... but are you sure the link is to an attachment on THAT page?
If it is a link to an attachment on another page that they don't have access to, then it won't be permitted.
This error sometimes happens when links are copied from one page to another.
