Have installed default Confluence 4x but have forgotten both the username and password, is there anyway I can retrieve both of them?

Hello Vins,

Just in addition to the Andre's answer, if you're using HSQL-db you can connect to the database using the DBVisualizer and so perform the procedure to restore the password to recover admin user rights, see below:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Connecting+to+HSQLDB+using+DBVisualizer

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

LJ.

Hi Vins,

the only way (I think) is to get access to the database and set a new password for the admin user.

More Information about that topic can be read in the Confluence Documentation:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights

I don't know if there is any way to make that if you are using the hsql-db.

Kind regards
André
