Copy & Paste from WIKI Page to new Template with Picture doesn't work

I prepared an article and saved it as page in confluence with the intention to use it as template in the future.

• If I now select, copy and paste the entire content of the page into a new template, the template is not saved, although the preview is displayed correctly.
• I've found, that it was due to pictures that were included in the original article.

Does anyone of you have an idea how I can copy images from a page into a new template - except individually.

I did not found a "Known Error", that describes this behavior of confluence.

Hi Jürgn, 

unfortunately i just made the same experience. It seems to be an error depending on how you copied the image(s) if you just use Ctrl + C to copy the image and paste it while you are creating your template, your template is broken and would not be shown after saving. 

If you use an right click while copy pasting and choose copy image the template will be created after pasting as it should.

Another workaround is to use the add image icone and insert the link of the image(s) instead. 
Hope this helps you out. 

But I would really recommend to open up a atlassian support request.
