Is it possible to copy/cut/paste columns in a table in confluence in the same manner as rows?
If not, is there a workaround to get columns moved?
Thank you.
André
Hi Bruna,
thats right, you can insert a new column, but to copy only one column in the middle of a large table and pasting it in the new column only works if the copied column is one the right side of the column to paste in. If you copy from a column on the left side then the result is bad. Here is an example:

This also annoyed me for a while, however, the following workaround does the trick: Copy the whole table and paste it into Excel, copy a single column in Excel, add a column in Confluence and paste your content into that.

I found one other way for anyone that cares.
You can do the old-school "swap" solution from programming 101.
you have a confluence table. Let's say it has 9 columns. you want columns 2-4 to be moved to what currently in front of column 8.
Solution:
Take two copies of the table (i do it on the same page).
in the first one delete the ones you don't want (2-4) and insert 4 where they go.
in the second one - delete all but the four. then copy the four and paste into the columns where you made the four blank columns.
viola.
delete your first table and your last and you're left with the desired result.

Found this while searching for solution.
And then I found https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-22711
This new feature gets a minor mention in the release notes
"As a bonus, we've also added cut, copy and paste buttons for columns. Yey."
I checked our version and we're still running 5.5.1 - so yeah,.. will need to update that.

Hi André!
Unfortunately, as far as I know, what you can do is to click on Insert Column (before or after) and copy the content.
Kind Regards
