Hi,
we are running an onpremise Confluence server and do have multiple spaces running. We do have some spaces where we would like to have the entry page visible to a group of people but no pages on subtrees. This could be a subtree beside the entry page of a space as well.
This seems not possible with the permission system used within Confluence since you cannot remove permissions but need at least read permissions for the page tree at top of the page you want to restrict. But this read permissions are always inherited to subtrees. My idea was to create a user with space permissions set to zero. Then allow this user to access the page tree within the space with read only permission. But a user without global space permssion is not possible.
I guess this is simply not possible but I would be happy if someone has a hint how this could be done.
Thanks a lot.
Michael
Grant View permission to the required group on Parent page, and for child page add Viewing and Editing restricted to everyone except you. (see image attached)
Hi Rilwan,
many thanks for your suggestion. I will try this.
Best
Michael
