Create from template macro is redirecting to last viewed page. why ?

Hi

I need to create a directory.

I have created a user template with putting table in page properties macro and assigned a label to it. I  tried to create a page from that template using 'create from template' Macro. but when I click on create button it redirects to the last worked on page. Macro is linked with right template(which i created).

I tried to create a page from blue print template using same macro then it worked well.

But when i am specifying  user template in macro it did n't worked.

I am new to confluence and struggling with it. Even cant find any documentation on it.

Please help.

Ahh I figured it out,

If you put a special character in the Title of the page to be created it will fail and redirects you to the home page.

I'm not too sure if this is a reverse proxy issue or application issue, I have not tested this without reverse proxy.

The Confluence instance was just recently upgraded and this functionality works on the previous version.

This was on Cloud? Could you tell me what was the special character that broke it? I can look into this more, but the original question was about Cloud and you mentioned a reverse proxy so I wanted to be sure of your version.

Ahh silly me, the instance I'm referring to is a server type.

The character was <>.

Thank you for confirming that. I investigated this, and I saw one example of another Server user having the issue, but their support ticket timed out and so we weren't able to get any more information on this. 

My recommendation would be to raise a ticket with the Server Support team so we can have a look, attempt to replicate, and log as a bug if that ends up being the cause of this.

We are affected by this. 

The window will load but after a second it will then redirect to the home page.

Any reason why?
