Following the Beta Whiteboards enablement, I started playing with it. The coolest, attractive feature is the ability to dynamically create Jira cards right from the whiteboard itself, and for me, from sticky notes, but I have yet to succeed in doing so.
THere is a good intro on how to invoke this functionality but if some of your fields are required, the user flow leaves a lot to be desired. Several issues on that: (1) You are told about needing to fill out required fields but some required fields are visible but not * tagged as required, so it is looking for a needle in a haystack to identify them (Reporter field for instance.) (2) some required fields are not visible in the list of fields to choose from, e.g. Client. (3) Once you click on the create issue, and it fails, the workflow takes you in the selected project, but without indicating that the card was not created in the active window, just that you don't have active sprints (in my case). To find out the status of the card creation, you have to know to come back to the Create a Jira issue in the whiteboard. Not the most intuitive user flow. My ask: (1) make all the required fields clearly visible (* tagged), not just some. (2) If some are not displayed (not sure why as they are visible when creating such cards in the same Jira project) then report which ones so the user can action that. Most users are not administrators on their system, and thus can't go find out which fields are required.
Hi Gerard, I've seen links for feedback on Beta features in the past, but I don't see it for the Whiteboard. There is probably a formal process, but it's not obvious to me for this feature. I guess I'd open a ticket with Support and they can probably steer you in the right direction. (support.atlassian.com, click 'Contact' in upper right and fill out the form).
I figure Atlassian team members are watching here, but I don't know how often they check here.
Hope that helps.

Hello @natalia.lezhai I did. They took note and they are working on these issues. They asked what field types to bring in first as it seems it is a bit of work. I am still reviewing that list with other co-workers.

hi @Gerard Cattin thanks a lot for answering, do you know if there is a feature request I can vote for on this?
