Custom Urls For a Separate Space (Confluence Space as Intranet)

We're going to use Confluence as INTRANET. So I have created a space "INTRANER" with custom look and feel (theme). Now I'm going to set default url to /Intranet/Home page, so if an employee enter in the browser www.example.com he will be redirected to www.example.com/Intranet/Home/ rather than to Confluence Dashboard. (Note we'll still have dashboard and other project spaces - just Intranet is a start point).

On the Intranet we have such sections as News, Forum, Docs, etc.

I have a task:

1. Get rid of the part /Intranet/Home so www.example.com will show you Intranet Homepage (I guess that is possible with the help of mod rewrite module for Apache, any suggestions here are welcome as I have no expirience with it, but have lots of with IIS Url Rewrite and I have configured Confluence over IIS
2. When I go to www.example.com/News I should see the content from www.example.com/Intranet/News
   1. for static urls I can still user Url Rewrite yes?
   2. What about dynamic content? I would like to see that my menu items uses /News instead of /Intranet/News and all the other generated content. E.g. I can add a high level page "EVENTS" and want to go to it by www.example.com/EVENTS

Part 1) Yes, use URL rewriting.

Part 2) URL rewriting should take care of this, too.
