Customer running Confluence 8.5.20 on Redhat Version 8

Martin Neal March 18, 2025

Customer is currently using Widget and Gadgets that will not work on Version 9.

Since Version 8.5.20 will no longer will be supported  after August 2025, here is the question.

Customer wants to know the best Version of 8.x to run that will have longer term support and will still work with Macros and Gadgets.

Looked at Version 8.9.8. However last update to 8.9.8  was Nov 2024.

This older version may not have latest Security updates.

Hi @Martin Neal

I see that you have asked this question in multiple forums.  It is difficult to give you a complete answer unless we know all the addons your customer is using.

I would recommend you stand up your own test instance of Datacenter and install the corresponding addons to see what is still available.

As far as predicting what will be supported long term so your customer doesn't have to repeat this effort, no one has a crystal ball... well one that works.
