Is there a way to define search filters buy default?
For example, from my search results page, I would like to filter the results based on a
"Space key" and "OF TYPE"
Instead of specifying these filters manually, is there a way to obtain the search results by default with these filters pre-applied?
Have you tried the Livesearch Macro -- this macro lets you add parameters to the search macro, so you can restrict what is searched for. E.g. quite good if you have loads of Spaces but want to restrict searches to just the particular space the user is on. You'd have to add this macro in to wherever you need to use it.
The other option is to get familiar with the Search Syntax, which might help you (personally, I'd say typing the syntax probably wouldn't net save you much time versus filtering.
Or, the other option is to push out naming conventions in your organisations. Encourage people to author content in a way that it becomes searchable. Think like Wikipedia
Thanks Thomas, for your suggestions.
I am aware of Live Search macro, but want to explore the option of applying filters by default to the existing/default Confluence search bar.
I use confluence to host customer documentation, so I cannot expect customers to use search syntax, so that option is not feasible in my case.
