Hi, is it still not possible to automatically display a list of upcoming releases in a Confluence page?

I've done a lot of checking communities and various products but they all seem to require manual work, or rely on defunct macros etc. We just want to list upcoming Fix Versions, it doesn't seem like a massively difficult task, or it seems like it shouldn't be...!

Thanks

Hi @Dave Curtis 👋🏻

First of all, welcome to the community!

To answer your question

Hi, is it still not possible to automatically display a list of upcoming releases in a Confluence page?

yes there is an easy way you can use Jira Legacy macro

  • create a filter from your release like this "project = 10105 AND fixVersion = 142952 ORDER BY created ASC"
  • you can get this filter on the release details page by clicking "View In Issue Navigator"
  • then you get the filter string to copy and paste in your confluence document as Jira Legacy macro.

OR

You can do the same using Jira work items macro,

  • you can also choose the fields (as shown in the below picture --> on the right) you would like to get them displayed in Confluence

This is how it looks in Confluence when you choose either of the macros.

Hope this helps and answers your question! 😊

I thought I was pretty clear, I want a way of displaying an automated list of upcoming releases in a project. I understand that getting a list of of issues within a release is easy.

E.g.:

Project = x AND fixVersion = unreleased

Some sort of useful list....

Thanks @Dave Curtis for sharing more details.

You can try Smart Links for Jira dashboards. Let me know if the below steps is what you are looking for :

  1. Pick your dashboard: Go to your Jira dashboard or create a new, custom dashboard. Choose the data you want to embed by clicking on the copy button at the top right of your dashboard or an individual gadget.

  2. Customize Your Pages: Navigate to your Confluence page and paste the link — it will automatically embed the dashboard or gadget. Then, tailor your page to suit your needs. Haven't explored Confluence yet? Now's the perfect time! Try it for free today.

  3. Share and Collaborate: Spread the word! Share your Confluence page with your team and stakeholders. Collaboration has never been easier—or more effective.

You can refer this article for more details. It has a short giph as well for a quick glance.

Thanks,
Anwesha

Hi @Dave Curtis

And, it still works so why not try to see if it serves your purpose.
