I do not have any product with Atlassian at the moment but I am looking into Confluence to share documents and would like some information on it. If the solution is available through Confluence then I am looking to implement it within my organisation.
I am looking use of it for sharing documents (with appropriate version controls) for our global team and to give access and transparency to the documents (procedures, desktop manuals, etc.) to our stakeholders and the larger organization.
Is there a solution for that using Confluence. And how would that be different than our companies intranet/sharepoint? What are the costs associated with it?
Still thinking about Confluence? I had same question 2years ago and I was trying to test different sollutions. If you want, write me and I can share my ideas.
Yes, confluence is perfect for collaboration, sharing, mentioning and version control is at it's heart.
Every page has version control and a full audit trail of changes can be seen. Likewise one can easily roll back pages if mistakes are made. It is especially useful for big projects.
In terms of costs, what are you looking at Server or Cloud?
See this page for Confluence Costs. https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/confluence
