Does every confluence user need to be part of the confluence-user group?

Kate Stechyshyn June 15, 2020

If you have external individuals that need to access a space to add/edit pages should they be part of the confluence user group?

Hi Kate,

It is possible to allow access to pages without using a license. Check out Atlassian's Public Access documentation. Cheers!

Hi @Kate Stechyshyn

this depends on your permission logic. You may want to have a look on this documentation article. Confluence-user is the usergroup set by default for a typical user who is not admin.

If confluence-user group is the user group that has the permission to add and edit pages in the space you should add the users to this group. You can make several groups e.g. for spaces, teams aso.

Feel free to ask if you need any more help!
