Does making changes to user's permissions happen on the Wiki server or DB? We need to disable 1500

Bach Singh May 9, 2018

Hello,

So the old admins never pointed the AD group to the right group for Wiki which means every user ever created is shown as active in Wiki. We want to change the group but want to make sure that:

1) Nothing breaks so we are trying to create a test enviroment

2) What aspect we need to duplicate; the server or server and DB

3) Whether disabling 1500 via AD is going to cause a crash to occur

Hi Bach!

Looks like on Confluence side has not been written some filters like this

https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/how-to-write-ldap-search-filters-792496933.html

1. Anyway, you can create in AD under ou=Security Groups, like ou=Confluence, and create/migrate the correct groups. (please, check group filters)

2. Then review global permissions under group level.  Please, read it-> https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/global-permissions-overview-138709.html

3. Also write configuration with correct configs: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/connecting-to-an-ldap-directory-802592350.html

Don't worry, Jira's article the same for the Confluence LDAP connection.

That's all/

Hope it helps.

Please, don't forget to mark for correct answer as Accept as solution.

Cheers,
