Does read only group count towards a license?

IF you add users to a group with only read only access to a Space, does that count towards a license?

Yes, it will consume a license if the group is Read-only. You can set up anonymous access for your site /space, which allows anyone to view, but if you want to specify certain people as read-only, then each of them needs a license.
