Does upgrading Confluence from 6.52 to 6.12 also upgrade PostgresSQL?

David Dellinger October 8, 2018

We're running Confluence 6.5.2 and I see from the View System Information, and "postgressql --version", we are using PostgresSQL 8.4.20 for our Confluence instance.

Does the upgrade to Confluence 6.12 also upgrade the PostgresSQL to something newer?  If the PostgresSQL upgrade is not included, what version of PostgresSQL should I use, and where is best to get the updated version?

I didn't install the original Confluence.  It says we've been using it since October 24, 2006.

Thanks

David

Hello,

No, Database will not be updated together with Confluence. System administrators are free to use any Supported DB vendor and version and are responsible for updating it themselves. In terms of supportability, you can refer to Supported Platforms list for supported DB versions, latest for Postgres would be 9.6.

Igor
