Don't allow user to edit a page from another user

Nicolas MINIER May 28, 2020

Hello,

I'm working on a wiki for my compagny and i have a question

I created a Space in the one user can create pages and then submit for approval.

So in one page they just have to clic a link, it automatically load a template and open in in confluence page editor (with space approval on top)

At this point everything works fine, the user can create his page , edit it and submit for approval but i tried to connect with another user and i see that every other user can edit this page...

Is there a simple way to just restrit edit in order to allow only the user 1 to edit his own page and don't allow other user to edit it? Cause currently everybody can edit other users pages and it could create many isssues if one user edit other pages by mistake.

I noticed, when i'm admin of the sapce, i can modify restriction manually for my pages but it's not possible for classic users and i'd prefer to have a simple workflow and not ask users another steps to restrict his own page by another way.

Thanks by advance

Hi @Nicolas MINIER

You don't mention which plugin in you are using.

What you want is possible in Comala Document Management. See How to add, remove and set page restrictions in our documentation.

Kind regards

James

Hi James, tahnks for your reply.

I don't use any plugin in this case, i just want only the user can create and edit his own page and the others can only view it.

And i think it's strange that natively when a user create a page everybody can modify it. I think it's a basic function possible to manage without plugin, but where?...
