When trying to duplicate a page in one of our spaces, the box for selecting the location of the copy comes up, but only has the spinning circle indicating it's loading. Before any options are presented, the box closes and we receive the message "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
This happens on all pages, regardless of restrictions. It's happening for all users, regardless of browser. I am an admin, and have full space permissions. We are not seeing the error when duplicating pages on other spaces. Any ideas what could be causing this?
It sounds like the issue is specific to that space since duplication works fine elsewhere. A few things to check: the space might be near its storage limit, which can prevent duplications; complex page hierarchies or a large number of child pages can sometimes cause the duplication dialog to fail; apps or plugins installed in that space could be interfering, so temporarily disabling them might help; checking the browser console or network logs when opening the duplication dialog could reveal JavaScript or API errors; and even as an admin, space-specific permissions or restrictions could be causing the problem. If none of these resolve it, submitting a support ticket to Atlassian is likely the best next step so they can check the server logs and identify why duplication fails in that space.
Thanks for your help! I eventually found the issue: these pages were owned by now-deactivated users. This was causing the system to fail at duplicating them (or moving, archiving, etc). Once ownership has been changed to an active user, the problem is fixed.
