TO BE:
The editor should close and open the edited page.

AS IS:
An error occurs.
"Connection timed out. If this happens again, contact your Confluence administrator. You may be using a proxy server that blocks WebSocket connections."

Office proxy is indeed used and there is no possibility to change it.
Are there any other ways out? What does WebSocket use?

Hi @hutsi,

Generally, Collaborative editing in Confluence requires a WebSocket connection. If one can't be established due to a timeout, or a proxy server or firewall that doesn't allow WebSocket connections, the editor will fail to load.

There are multiple reasons, one see this error message.

  • Unsupported Web Browser
  • Proxy disallow the web socket connections
  • SSL configuration, if applicable
  • Firewall disallow the web socket connections

I would recommend to check the network connection and review the atlassian-confluence.log file to identify the exact reason for encountering this issue.

Plus, If SSL configuration is in place, make sure to trust the certs into JAVA keystore.

Thanks,

Kiran.
