Error while upgrading Confluence 5.1.5 -> 5.2.3

Im trying to upgrade our Confluence from 5.1.5 to 5.2.3 but i always get the following error below. Any Ideas whats wrong? We're using MySQL.

The answer seems to be here.

There's a couple of possible causes and the linked issue explains how to diagnose which it is and provides workarounds.

Adding to this, there are two reasons why it happened:

1. Wrong storage engine (MyISAM as opposed to InnoDB) or/and
2. Wrong collation - the recommended collation is utf8_bin

It's important to go through the diagnosis section to determine if you'll need to apply workaround #1 or #2 or both. These workarounds can be done on the pre upgrade database.

It seems that you are running into a known bug: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-30380

Unfortunately it wasn't fixed yet however there are some workarounds in the bug report that you might try.
