Failed to create the user …

Hello,

I installed confluence and jira on the same windows server.

I configured confluence with HTTPS on port 9443 / confluence is reachable with URL : https://confluence.XYZ.ch:9443

Confluence is working well but it's impossible to add a user :

Failed to create the user …

In the following log file C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\Confluence\logs\atlassian-confluence.log, I find :

-- referer: https://confluence.XYZ.ch:9443/admin/users/createuser.action | url: /admin/users/docreateuser.action | traceId: db356ea96aec9ed8 | userName: jiraadm | action: docreateuser
com.atlassian.confluence.user.UserManagementOperationFailedException: com.atlassian.crowd.exception.runtime.OperationFailedException: The following URL does not specify a valid Crowd User Management REST service: http://jira.XYZ.ch/rest/usermanagement/1/user

Thank you for your help

Hello!

A few users are recently experiencing the same error in another Community Question. I've laid out a few troubleshooting steps there if you can take a look and verify.

This can be caused by a firewall or reverse proxy preventing the connection between the two applications or an invalid URL, so please have a look and let us know if you have any questions or if this does not resolve your issue.

Kind Regards,

Shannon
