Hey everybody,
I have to insert a PDF file, but due to company regulations it is not allowed for the PDF to be downloadable. Viewers should only be able to view the file, but not download or print it. Is there any solution or work-around? Currently I exported the file as JPEGs and inserted those manually one after the other. It looks fine, but since the file has >100 pages, it is not optimal.
Furthermore, I would like people to be able to look for words in the PDF via Strg+F if possible. Currently, due to my work-around using JPEG, that is not possible.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks for the support ;)
Hi Timothy
There is a way to disable Attachment Downloads, even of a specific filetype:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-disable-attachment-downloads-215484007.html
I tested this, it works.
But be warned, this requires code changes of your confluence. And after this Admins won't be able to download the pdf-files too.
Cheers
Nick
As Nic said, of course Users can still do screenshots and copies of the text.

The preview should still work.

True, although you can still get a copy of it from that!

The act of reading it in its current format downloads a copy to the client, even if it is just temporary, so no, you can't do that.
Your only option is to convert it into a format where they can only view it on screen as an image (and even then, there's nothing to stop them saving the images)
