Have Jira, Just Added Confluence to My On-demand services, how do I add users to a space?

I have gone in circles for hours trying to figure out how to add users to a confluence space. All of my Jira users need access to their respective projects, but even though Confluence is enabled for all users, I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to add them to an existing space.

Can someone please tell me the basic steps to add a user to a confluence space?

I am experiencing exact the same issues.

I also tried all the confluence-users permission settings and even tried to give some users global super-admin rights, but it seems only those two user-accounts who had super-admin rights when we were only using Jira (without Confluence) can access the wiki.

The last thing I'm thinking of is to remove all custom roles and user-/group-permissions and set it up all from the beginning but I'm a bit afraid of it. In the end, no-one can access anything anymore :/

I found this issue (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/UNIFIED-9) and tried to work out the described workaround, without success unfortunately.

Thanks William. I did all those steps.

* created group called confluence-users and added all users to it

* made sure confluence is activated for all users

* added a group (not confluence-users, a different group called MMCDEV) to my space permissions and granted permissions

I'm not sure if the people in the group were added to the space or not, but when I got to the People section, I only see one new person, but 12 others that belong to the group I gave permssions to are not listed.

One thing I'm wondering about is the confluence-users group. We created that manually, but the confluence-administrators group was created on install of confluence, not manually (at least I *think* that's how it happened -- someone on my team may possibly have created this group)

Hi Doug,

We have to ways to "add" a user to a Confluence space. We can set indivual permission to the user, or we can put this user in a group that has access to the space.

First you need to make sure that the user belongs to the confluence-users group, which is Confluence's default group to access a space. That way everyone on that group will be able to access a space in Confluence.

Thanks Doug, we have a ticket open at the moment. It seems to me that the Application Access tables that are used by User Management are not synced with the Application Access permissions that the Confluence OnDemand instance is accessing, does the align with what you and the support team are investigating?

I am working with support to resolve this issue. @conradand @tom, you may want to open a ticket. We've taken a few steps to resolve it, but not there yet.

I'm having the same problem. It seems as though even though I grant access to the Confluence application, users still cannot access Confluence.

Any solution?
