Having trouble formatting status in table

In some tables, that I didn't set up, plain text is automatically converted to a colored status. I don't want that because then, I can't change the color of the status on my project.

For example, ON TRACK is colored green. If I change the status to COMPLETE, it is still colored green, but I want it to be colored blue.

If I change the plain text to a status by inserting a status from the menu, I get a "lozenge" that is surrounded by a green margin. So, if the lozenge is green, I get an oversized green lozenge. If the lozenge is blue, I get a blue lozenge surrounded by a green band.

I don't know what is happening because I am knew to Confluence. However, my thought is that there is some sort of table property or macro that I can't see that is changing the appearance of particular cells. So, I am trying to figure out how to get rid of that macro or change the property so that doesn't happen.

BTW, it doesn't happen in all tables. Some tables appear to be formatted differently so I don't have that problem. It also means that when the statuses of all the tasks are lined up in the summary table, the styles don't match. Some rows have small lozenges and some have large ones.

Individual task table:

Rows from combined table:

Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you are using the Status macro to display the status of your project. The Status macro displays a colored lozenge (a rounded box) that is useful for reporting project status. You can choose the color of the lozenge and the text that appears inside the lozenge. The macro also displays its current status in the editor, and you can change the status directly in the editor by clicking on the Status macro lozenge. You can also add color and other formatting options to your table using the panel macro and certain third-party apps (if your Confluence Cloud administrator has installed them on your site).

Well, when I went to try to explain what the problem was, I apparently fixed it. By deleting the Status, replacing it with plain text, saving, editing, and reinserting the Status, I was able to fix the problem. I'm not sure why I would have to do that, but as long as it works, I'm happy. Thanks.
