Hide a knowledge-base space to some user

valerian Baillet November 21, 2018

Hi,

I have two knowledge-base link to two differents projects on the same confluence instance.

I have some users who have to work on the space A and I want hide them the space B . They haven't any right on the base b but they can see it anyway. I think they can see the base because the base is link to the project in jira.

How can I hide the space ?

Best regards.

Hi,

I try your suggestions and it doesn't work. My user have only the confluence-user right and he hasn't any right on the space b.

Does it have any right to dismiss on the jira instance ?

Yes, you have to remove their access to the Jira portal that is linked to the knowledge base you want them not to see.

My user always can use the other space.

My space configuration : Capture.JPG

My user have only confluence-user user and y can't access to the other project. The last thing I can add is that all the space is on the same confluence instance.

All my users who have the jira-service-desk or confluence-user have access to all the space link to a service desk project.

somebody have any answer ?

Yes, remove their access via the service desk - that's the point - the service desk is giving them access because that is what is designed to do.  Or disassociate the space as the Service Desk KB.

You also need to check that there is no access for "anonymous" users in the space config.

Hi, "base b", do you mean 'space b'? May be I am wrongly understand your situation.

But do you try give no "view" permission to these users for space b?

I did not mention "base b", I said that to remove access from a knowledge base space (space b), you need to remove the access they get from the Jira portal (as well as any access you may have given them as confluence users)

They get to see a knowledge base when it is linked to a Jira Service Desk portal that they can see.  Remove their access to the portal and they won't get access to the KB.
