When searching in confluence (using the quicksearch or the normal search), how can you hide the people results from the dropdown ?
Ie. When you want to find all pages containing 'John', but you don't want to have all "John's" in the dropdown list.
Is this because you're opening up your internal wiki to external parties (e.g. customers and partners)? We have a couple open feature requests in this area:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23985
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-20031
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-7057
Bill,
We really need to stop access to people profiles, and we are thinking to redirect requests to profile specific information (such as mentions and others)
What would be the best way to create a comprehensive list of URL's which should be redirected ?

Francis,
John is quite a common name, could you not search on the surname instead?
Otherwise, unless there's some way of doing it using AND/OR/NOT etc, all Johns will be returned.
See here for more info: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Confluence+Search+Syntax?src=search
Cheers.
