I understand Confluence offers two ways to create a new Jira Service Desk issue from within a page: 1) through the Editor and Jira Issue/Filter Macro, and 2) by highlighting text on a page and clicking the "Create Jira Issue" button that appears. The Jira Issue/Filter Macro is not viable for us because users won't have the ability to "edit" pages. We also don't want users to have to highlight text before being able to access the "Create Jira Issue" button.
Is there a way to place a button on a page that when clicked displays the create issue form?
We are using the Server version, not cloud.
You could create a Jira Issue Collector and use HTML Embed macro. Note that HTML Embed macro is disabled by default due to security considerations (e.g. potential XSS attacks)
Thanks for answering, and that indeed works just fine. I ended up embedding the script into the Custom HTML configuration versus enabling the HTML macro.
