How can I add a new tab in the confluence dashboard, which has to be feeded with blogposts macro?

Velizar_Borisov October 16, 2014

Hi all,

I want to add a new tab in the right bar of the starting page in my Confluence instance. In my case that page is the dasboard. I circled the right place I want to add the tab for better explanation. I read a bit of documentation, but i can't still find the way where and what to add. Can someone tell me how to do this in few steps?

Thanks in advance.new-tab.JPG

In short: it cannot be done

The position where you want the new tab, is part of the Confluence Dashboard Macro Plugin, which is bundled with Confluence. In theory and if you manage to get the source code for it (which could be difficult), you could eventually add the code and package your custom Confluence Dashboard Macro Plugin. But I would not recommend doing this and it is not done "in a few steps".

It would be easier to modify your global layout decorator and find a different spot on the dashboard, where you place the blogpost-macro, you can of course also use tabs there: https://docs.atlassian.com/aui/latest/docs/tabs.html
