How can I assign an epic to a specific issuetype automatically?

We would like that when you create an issue, a specific epic is automatically linked to it. This should only be done for 1 type of issue, not for all new issues. Is that possible?

This can be done through Workflow post-functions.

Example: Whenever a Task is created, update a field value through post-function to set Epic Link to a specific issue. But if you are looking for more conditional execution then you need to go for an Automation rule or add-ons like JMWE.
